Sweet Biscuit Inn is
hosting a Quilter’s Vacation to be held this August 7-12. Other dates for the
same workshop are set for Nov 14-18, 2010 and April 8-13, 2011.
In
addition to the workshop, your 5 nights / 6 day stay at Sweet Biscuit Inn, will allow you to
visit the annual Asheville
Quilt Show, as well as the renowned Biltmore Village Arts
& Crafts Fair. Both events are held on your arrival weekend, with your
workshop following on Monday and Tuesday of the week. The Quilter’s Vacation
will also include a greeting wine and cheese on Saturday night, as well as a
finale farewell dinner on Wednesday night. A guest speaker, Amy Milne, director
of the national nonprofit Alliance
for American Quilts (based in

boyhood home of the author Thomas Wolfe (Look Homeward,
Angel) is furnished with family possession and open for
tours
(approx. 30 min.). A number of special events take place
each year.

WNC Nature Center
The Western North Carolina Nature Center is the
first place where area children meet the animals they have
read
about. Deer, bears, cougar, wolf, raccoons, birds and even
farm
animals are there for all to learn about. Exhibits on area
poisonous
snakes are worth absorbing. An aviary, self-guided nature
trail and
petting zoo make this a great place for the family. Small
